I have custom valved (by me) Bilsteins on my SOA rig. I took out some of the high-speed dampening, added rebound, etc, etc. I'm sort of a freak when it comes to shock valving, I have to have it just right. The Bilsteins tend to have a longer collapsed length due to the fact that they have a dividing piston inside the tube to keep nitrogen and oil separated, so you might run into dimension issues. But it is sound advice to measure your needed collapsed and extended lengths before you buy anything. I have found most refference material to be wrong on Land Cruisers. My favorite off-the-shelf shock is the Skyjacker Sofride Nitro. I would buy those again in a heartbeat. DO NOT get the Hydro, they sucked, too harsh. And if you have a welder, do yourself a favor and modify your front mounts to accept eye mount shocks instead of the stud or post mount that it came with. Then your shock options go up dramaticaly.
