After a small fire and now needed refresh, I noticed my crazy old Rancho 9000’s had roasted bushings and just think they are old and need replacement.
The challenge i am having is finding a shock with the same travel. Just sitting, the distance between the bolts is 21”
My old ranchos are 16” compressed to 26” full length.

Anyone have shocks they like that may work for replacing the old Rancho 9000’s? Not worried much about road ride as its a trailer queen and minimal roads.

Any advice would be great.

Bilstein 5125s are nice, but on a SOA truck, stiffer bilstein 7100s are better.

I was looking at them last night. Any idea on what model or part number? I will call and see what they say but failed miserably talking to Rancho this am.

Thanks so much! Great start.

Can you share your SOA setup and what parts you used? Any pics would be great too

I gave you the model, 5125 or 7100. You have to find the part number by looking through the listings for one with your compressed/extended lengths.

I looked closer and they make sense now. found some 5125's but not finding the 7100 options as easily. I will find them though. Just need more time on the computer. Going to pause till i get cruiser running again and then try to flex the thing to its max to measure again.

As far as parts used, I did the spring over 20 years ago. Then a friend redid everything for me 10 or more years ago. we kept the stock springs. He re-angled everything, cut and turned the axle ends, and added a high steer kit. It drives fantastic on the road with no bump steer at all. Happy to snap some pics if you think they will help.
