random work
stripped the windshield frame and the front panel

halogen light bad without vent in the back

hmmmm, maybe move forward (note the use of special blue welder's tape? I bought that off Pirate)

and I put a cover over the wires, and will have to redo one wire ... ugh

back to the frames

about 1/4 of the way there.... I've done the easy stuff now I have to sand the corners and make sure that no stripper ended up inside the frame

and the other two bits

and started by etching the inside of the tank....

not pictured, I finished the fuel lines so once I line the tank the fuel system will be done.

a bit of unexpected time to dink on the '40
line the bottom

seal the pickup and return

connect lines

get sidetracked by honeydo

missed it by this much

oh well, either I'll move the seat over a bit or grind the offending plastic...

start button installed

and then I wired for awhile.... I hate wiring

Starting here

a ways to go here

looking better here

and now here

there will be a switch, though it might not be this one

as to the question about cutting the rail - they're not the lowest point on the chassis; but I'm still putting sliders on the side and they will look something, roughly, like this....

Narrowing in on vroom vroom
wiring the battery box (what a pain, I should have made it bigger)

if you look, you'll see there is power to the dash and the two gauges hooked up work.... not sure the oil pressure is right - but it works

and plumbed the heater core so I could refill the coolant.

I wired an ignition switch in, and it turns the fuel pump on - which, since it's controlled by the computer, means the computer is at least operating that...

tomorrow I'll pick up gas and see if it will actually make some noise

isn't witch hunter in the area somewhere around here? Probably even closer to you..... could probably just have them all rebuilt for cheaper than even 1 new injector...

This is a factory hood pad

I just ran by my troubles with a friend who owns a mechanic shop and his suspicion is the injector o-ring has failed. Which actually makes sense because the flow doesn't seem from the opening itself but it's conical. If not, yes I will tap the local injector rebuilding community Savas tuning is still around, Injector service mostly does diesels but if you ask nice (meaning, tell Charles that you'll spill the beans about something you know), or by "get new injector" I mean take it apart, clean it, and reassemble it myself with 25 cents worth of o-rings..... nice thing about gas injectors is you don't need the pressure machine to adjust the open pressure like you do on a diesel (and I have a diesel that needs this done.... which is why it isn't done yet).

I've now driven it and..... oh boy, shocker, it drives quite nicely (don't tell Pirate, to them it's the stupidest build ever, dumbest build ever, will never get done build - we wouldn't want to blow their little minds).... I've not yet aligned it other then ball-park-tape-measure. But up to 40 mph it drives straight, doesn't bounce steer at all - which, to me, is pretty remarkable on bias-ply tires.

we now know it's equal to my wifes JoKe :)

no sway bar, yet, but again it drives pretty nicely

as you can see, some more assembly is required - but now it's no longer a static ornament and my worry about whether or not I got the geometry right is gone

and just to remind.... August 13, 2014, this is what it looked like

brakes work excellent as well :) dang, it's almost like I know what I'm doing :steer:
