carpet covers many sins. that's one of those builds that I would express appreciation at the fab work, and bite my tongue to express my thoughts at their sanity. But as I've said many times before, it was metal before and it can be metal again. At this point in history, you could build a FJ40* without one part coming from a Toyota factory.... and as an aside, that's the greatest compliment to any manufacturer; unless you're Ford, then it's the greatest affront ;)

*for the trolls - you can build one that, to the casual observer, looks spot on.... a true enthusiast would note the Morrison frame, centered rear axle, and the manufacturing differences of the Aqualu tub.
 
and it gives it that nice, non-slip texture... the other reason to wait is the bottom temp for the paint to flow and stick nicely is 50 degrees, it was 45 degrees when I was ready to paint.
 
the holes are for branch lifters.... at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

you know, I would have gone with chrome, but it seemed like that's something they'd do on the short-bus-riding denizens of another website... you know, the ones that like to dress up like the village people and say 'har'
