Anyone shipped an engine?

I need to crate this thing and am not sure what the best way to secure it is. I currently have the front motor mounts lag bolted to 10" tall blocks on a skid. The rear is sitting on the oil pan. I plan to ratchet strap it over the top of the valve cover as well.

Any pictures? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Haven't shipped a 2F, but have shipped a 350. I'd drain it well, lay it on it's side on a pallet, cover it with some plastic, and strap it down. I wouldn't ship it standing up; it's just too unstable.

Good Luck.

same as this guy. When i was getting ready for Jasper engines to pick up my 2f i was sending them to reman. They told me to wrap it up in plastic and have it ready to pick up on a pallet.

wow, sorry i hadn't responded earlier. Jasper did an incredible job. They had a turn around of about a 4 weeks only because of some personal requests of the engine I had. They bench tested the engine and adjusted the valves and sent it to me with gaskets and an oil pump from aisin for all the covers that i had to install. All parts they used in my engine were rebuilt with oem or good aftermarket.

The price you can check out on their website and their service and answering all the questions i had for them was awsome. They are very professional and straight forward. I also found out that the toyota dealers use their engines as replacements.

they did send my exact block back to me as I requested. They even had another 2f there at their facility that was completely remanufactured and asked me if I wanted to go ahead and have that sent to me instead because it was already done, but i told them i wanted my original block back and they did just that. They went ahead and remanufactured my exact engine and shipped it to me.

The engine right now runs great and its still under warranty, i believe i had a 3 year or 36k mile warranty.
