the good part is now she sees the importance of a dual battery setup and lockers....Shhh! I have her convinced lockers are part of the electrical system:)

Man, am I proud of you, and your wife as well! I remember well when I realized that I would soon be a Dad. It changed all of my life. It was late for us, and the event was a miracle for us. It was supposed to be impossible.
My daughter defied all of the doctors' predidictions. She was conceived in spite of them.
We refused to to change our lifestyle, and took Lessa wheeling at up to 6 months gestation. Her first Wheeling run was in Mom's belly on a gentle trail. We drove up Pinal Mountain outside of Globe.
We talked to her all the way. She didn't get another trip until she was three months born.
Then we took the same trail. We showed her the same place. She was rapt in her attention. Never underestimate the instincts of the small ones. She knew where she was, and that she had been there before. This was her place. Small kids are more aware than we can know.
In both my Montero, and the Land Cruiser, I realize more and more that Lessa knows where she has been. In every situation where I nearly rolled over, she felt my fear. Every place that inspired me with beauty, she remembers. Most of her early memories are softly subdued. But all of the outdoor experiences are strong in her memory. The beauty of the outdoor world is vivid in her memory. This has affected her greatly.
She is a "critter kid" She really expects to be able to pet the squirrels. She is completely at home in the forest. She has learned from me things that I don't even remember knowing. Being a dad is the most incredible experience ever. Enjoy it for all it is worth!
