scored some alloy mags and spent hours cleaning and polishing then stole the 35"s off of f100 (no rubbing but havnt been off road yet, been preoccupied, hub to guard mesurments are 570mm all round

no body lift at the moment, ive got a 2" BL kit in the shed but I don't want it any higher so im going to do some guard surgery when I attack the rather depressing rust issue,
usual spots, roof doors various random spots (was a costal car)

what else......came with a long range tank, unknown capacity, last fill was 155l and the low fuel light wasn't on yet....
fuel economy is about 13l/100kms
not sure what it is with the 35's, only recently fitted, sits on 110 (gps reading) pulling 2200rpm in 5th cog, was 2500 with the 31" tyres on there

air con is great and car is really cool with the tint now plus I live up in the Midwest of WA some its pretty consistently hot up here

still working on getting the steering good/ better had a RTC steering dampner fitter but didn't like the feel, had one on my last 89 hilux and it was great, but I don't like it on the 60 so ive taken it off for the moment

ive nearly got all the stuff to do the rust just need a bit more cash and a time injection

Cheers mate, it's a work in progress, still got a lot to do, the best bit about these old girls is that you can do so much with some basic tools, puncture proof hands and crc:-).......
(I lost a bit of skin over the last few weeks but it was worth it,
ended up doing about 20 leaf spring changes between this one and my parts 60,
rebuild and paint old springs off parts 60,wasn't sitting right, swapped individual leafs ect then spat it and bought new ones for rear, car was handling sheets, realised I put front ones on back to front, swapped them around ect...... Fun and games...

Love that bullbar mate any chance you could message me measurements for it, luv your truck 100 times nicer than mine at the moment haha

Looks great! big difference once you changed that front bumper. keep up the good work.

The bunny bar wasn't too hard to make

I just made the centre box first

Then did one side fully then tried my best to copy it onto the other side then fully welded the back side of it

It's about 5mm out on the right side which annoys me but only cos I know that it's there:-) could not notice once painted

I'm only a hobby welder but it's a fun little project, got side steps, rear bumper and roof rack to do now:-)

Awesome 61. One question. Did you take off the sun shade because it his the snorkle, or just didn't want it. I love the look of them on it. :):)

Thanks Cody Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

Hey buddy, yeah snorkel issues, plus it was all rusted out behind where it was mounted and needed to be removed to fit new windscreen and I haven't even though about refitting until the rust in the area is fixed, both top windscreen corners have bad rust needing to be cut out

don't mind them myself too, was thinking about incorporating some form of visor (with spottie mounts) into my roof rack build in the future

Well it's been quite a while since I've updated the build thread.
Rust repair is now complete, lots of pics coming.
I didn't post during the rust repair mainly due to not wanting g another build thread that ends up with it being sold off as scrap;)
