Hey all,
A while back someone was telling me that there was a place in Abq that sold recovery shackles and such. For the life of me I cant remember the name of the place! I know that I can get them at Desert Rat and 4WP but they are spendy there.

Any help?

Thanks
Daisy

Possibly Grainger on Osuna, I believe that is where we got them from long ago.

Now you're going to make me think. The ones I bought, not sure if I bought them here in town or the internet. Why do you need them from here if you can find some on the internet. You making a run soon and not going to invite anyone? What do you mean by spendy? More than what? You could just walk by a built up heep, that has them hanging on their bumper. You know, those guys that will never use them. They won't miss them. Not that I promote stealing, but why not put them to a good cause.

Western Tractor on Mountain and 2nd (?) has good ones.

But seriously, you owe it to yourself to go to IMSCO. That shop is all that is man.

Well, I MUST go check out the shop that is all MAN.....

Leave your credit card.

Otherwise you will probably walk out with a few cases of Kroil and a couple hundred feet of 1/2" winch cable. ;)

I bought some big Crosby shackles at:

Wisco Supply Inc - Wisco Supply, Inc.
3430 Pan American Freeway Northeast, Albuquerque - (505) 878-0040

Told you.

You should have included a hand in there for reference.

They make winch cable for reasonable rates too. They can also make pull cables custom (not that many of us often need custom length pull cables though). How were their prices on shackles?

Dan

Biguns are 3/4 inch, 4 and 3/4 ton and were 19 bucks.
little one is 1/2 inch and 2 tons.

They also have a hose shop in the same building, we stuck our heads in and it looked like they had all the goodies...

Sounds good - I'll have to go check it out. I got a cool big shackle at the Mesa Tractor shop on 4th for a similar price. It's a different design though. Instead of the pin screwing into the threaded portion on the shackle, the pin slides straight through and is held in place with a sturdy clevis pin. It seemed like it might be quicker and easier if I was just hooking up a tow strap for a quick pull.

Well if you wanted a bigger shackle, they had them there.
How big do you think that giant one was Ali??
Ill bet it was 20 tons at least!

They also had a table full of "failed" stuff. Most of those items were user error, but still amazing none the less.

x~3 for IMSCO... cool place, scary for my wallet agreed, but cool.

good prices on shackles. 3x 3/4" ~57$ after tax.
