Yeah same method to change the pulley by itself. Remove the belt and spin all the pulleys by hand you will be able to feel resistance and hear the sqeak if they are causing it.

I wonder if i should change the belt? Everything i read says belt wont cause squeak?Yeah same method to change the pulley by itself. Remove the belt and spin all the pulleys by hand you will be able to feel resistance and hear the sqeak if they are causing it.
Belt squeaks are more of an annoyance than anything detrimental. Unless one of your pulley has seized and it's just dragging over it instead of spinning it. Should be okay, my cars' belts squeaks in the morning too when it's cold.
The bolt on the tensioner is reverse right. Clockwise to unscrew.Just replaced the belt and tensioner in my '06 LX. 1maybe 2
. I did it with a freshly torn bicep without much effort.
Bearings were shot, seized and threw the belt just as i pulled in the driveway.
I did not remove anything other than the upper radiator hose. Would have been even easier if i had taken time to pull some of the crap off beforehand.
I also did all the work from under the hood.
I REPLACED THE PULLEY ONLY. NOT THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY.
I had read that some of the years the tensioner was a known issue. Side by side the new one was slightly larger than the old. And this was noticeable when installing the new belt. I had to use about a 14" cheater on the ratchet as well as 17 of the 106 curse terms and swear words that I know.
This all started as an intermittent squeal upon ignition.
Good luck.
