Hi all,
As I'm advancing through my 1984 HJ60 restoration, the interior really needs a touch-up.
Pretty all the threads here lead to the SEM product catalog, which has proven results.
These products are however very hard to source in Europe. Multiple suppliers have cited "excessive administration" or "environmental rules" as reasons for why SEM no longer exports to Europe. Can anyone confirm this? Any others in the same boat as me? One supplier mentioned that maybe in 2-3 months exports will recontinue...
For those curious: my HJ60 has a brown/tan interior. The products I will be needing and that were recommended on mud are:
- SEM Vinyl adhesion promotor
- SEM Cordovan Brown 15023 (brown colour)
- SEM Saddle Tan 15033 (tan colour for dash) (not 100% confirmed but likely best match)
- SEM Opel Gray 1803 (for the roof grab handles etc.)
Seriously considering spraying my whole headliner in this as well, could anyone provide their 2 cents on this idea?
I'm cleaning it thoroughly in every possible way but it has so many stains and discolorations that I think a full make-over would be the way to go. It just shows age.
Replacing it is not an option.
- Some sort of SEM black aerosol, for gauge cluster and other black plastics. Any recommendations on this?
- SEM plastic prep.
Will be revamping just about everything: dash, bezels, gauge cluster, seatbelts, seats, headliner, rear view mirror, grab handles, door trims, the plastic heating ducts under the dash, door sil trims, the trim around the complete door opening etc.
Open to suggestions for tackling all this + anyone who could direct me to a secret stash of SEM-goodness hiding in Europe?
Would buying in the USA and shipping it over myself be a viable option? I will be in California for Christmas and NYE...
