Was thinking of going to check this one out but seller says he doesn’t give out VIN and prefers to deal face to face. Should I be wary? i think I can get it for 6k. He says no rust, ABS light on needs new clock spring, needs TB/WP, has leaky power steering hose, needs serpentine best and idler pulley.

If it looks promising, show up and do a Toyota Owners search of the VIN for records. If it looks good let the seller entertain questions, otherwise walk away.

I think thats stupid, and he should give the VIN.

I also think you get what you pay for. Clean 100's are getting more expensive, regardless of the threads you read here bragging about the incredible deal someone got. 6k is pretty cheap.

If it's close enough (less than an hour), you're not losing much by driving out there to possibly get a great deal. If it's located further than that, forget it.

Can go from plate to VIN on many internet sites, the 06 I just bought the seller was the same way. It was correct for me so I assume it will be correct for you.
Not willing to give out vin, but publishes the license plate. Some people....

That is awesome. I have the VIN. What is the cheapest best place to pull the Carfax?

Used this site many times, i first found it on slickdeals you can find posts about it by searching carfax on slickdeals. It's legit, but no idea how they get the reports they must have a dealer subscription.
