We we all know who won the first one. And there was really no contest. Chuck stole the show. JP and John have got me thinking we could make this an Anual contest every year during the Over the Mountain Tour (OMT). We need to come up with some rules. Has got to center around Coolers of course. I know we all have some old ones laying around we could use and fab up something to race in. Using our local swollen creek if it's available or the Tellico River across the street.

So what do you say? Got any ideas?

Last years only contestant. Though I don't think anyone could have touched his ability to raft in that cooler.

I like it!!! How about we find a decent 100 yard stretch of the Tellico river and have the race there, line everyone up just like at a track race and then let them go at it!

as far as rules, why don't we just leave it open; a "run wha ya brung" attitude...... could make for some interesting entries that way.

I think we should have it after the Sat. trail ride

this could be the perfect oppurtunity for you to fab. up another one of those fancy trophies Marshall :D

LET'S DO IT

No sails, either.

Maybe a timed course, where we all run one-at-a-time aginst the clock. I fear with all the entrants the river would become too congested.

does this mean you will be manning a raft Capt.??? :grinpimp:

Ahem........trying to assemble a crew as we speak. May be coming up with my friend Barry in his 100 series only. Howver, the Skunkwerks here is contemplating a catamaran-type twin-hull raft design. :D

Nice. I think we might want to rule out using the cheap styrofoam coolers just because they might break up and mess up the river.

That means all parts must stay on boat and be tied to it.

Good points, Marshall. The Tellico River is pretty tightly managed through that stretch. Game wardens patrol regularly.

It is a prized watershed and we should do out best to keep it that way.

Should be fun!!! :D

Nice, I like it!! Done a lot of tubing like that down the New River in VA.

You're right Richard, the New River rocks. Going back to tube in a few weeks...

Dats sum funnie s*** rit der....i dunt kare whu u r

How bout mixin some redneck sleding in with the redneck raftin.....maybe have a cruiser up stream and haul the winch down to the contestant and see how fast you get hauled up river....must have quick release in case apparatus flips over due to poor balance and steering of the captain on board the vessel.

Good thinking Chuck we can use your winch!:flipoff2:

HAHAHA.....at first I thought about just gettin pulled behind a cruiser but as I remember there are a lot of trees along the river....therefore one wouldn't get pulled very far....so the next logical option was a winch....

this is my 1000th post...took me long enough to get there
