Well as we all know new trails are not falling out of the sky. Most public trails are under risk of being shut down or closed during the winter months. I can think of a handful of trails that are less than a gas tank away and considering we travel most of these trails twice or more a year they can get a little monotonous. It's generally the people going on these adventures that make the trip fun. Especially for me.

I've been working since Jan to try to fix the issue of having new and fresh trails to ride on and hopefully a few that would make a great day trip. JP and myself scouted around northeast Georgia back in March finding a whole new area that has loads of potential. And this past weekend we located what could be UC's new honey hole. We had explored this area we hit this past weekend but not to the extent of what we did Sat. This area has loads of potential, and best of all legal. And after a few hr's of reviewing satellite photos we may have only scratched the surface. There are miles and miles of trails right around the corner.

The positives of this area and the ability to cater to all different kinds of vehicles within a great area. The negatives are it's not the kind of place that can handle a lot of traffic. So as we go to this area I would like to stress that it's kept in the club and not under any situation be discussed as far as location to anyone, anywhere at any time. I can see this as a great place to go the Sunday after the annual meeting. With all that said here are some of the pics from Saturdays scouting trip.

Great pics fellas, sorry I missed it.

Good job using that '62 like it was designed for JP!

I have a new ride scheduled this weekend, hopefully we'll get some pics and have another new area for UC to ride...

Nice, MArshall your ROTW pics in the 40 section are gone and now some of these show up.

Hey Marshall, how far away is this. Looks like a lot of fun. Us Lowcountry folks need to find something closer than Tellico but just as challenging.

Yep I've screwed those photos up. Will have to try to find them.

Rolled the numbers on my camera and when I uploaded them it just erased my old photos. Hmmm Guess I need to use the random number box from now on.

.

judging by posts on one of our other favorite places (ie someone not in our club posting locations in chat last week), I would X2 marshals remarks about location.

Is that the place where we went night wheeling that time and alex thought he blew a birf? I'll keep the location to myself.

It's in the upstate of SC about 4hrs away from you.

I've got a buddy who is down in Charleston who just got into wheeling. He has been aggressively searching out places to go. I should have some good ones for y'all this year.

Oh NO! I didn't see that. Sucks.

One other thing I might suggest folks. As of this weekend I will be a Master TreadTrainer with TreadLightly!. We need to do some training on responsible wheeling for the membership of the club.

Thanks Andy!!! I love that '62 I wheeled the snot out of it this past weekend and it seemed to be loving it. Not bad for a 46 year old vehicle...... those ball and claw axles are tougher than people think :grinpimp:

hope to see you on the trail soon

curious who posted and why??

I searched for the thread earlier but couldn't find it. Some guy who had wheeled there before posted up asking about Cullowhee. Later he started another thread talking about "that place you don't name." (or something to that effect) He caught a bunch of flak from the Chat regulars and told everyone how to get to the trails including road names...good stuff.
