Cost and value are not synonyms. These aren't cheap seats. But they are high value seats. Also, Knightsbridge Overland, who specialize in interior bits for off-brand 4x4s, makes covers for the Scheel Mann Vario (in both regular and XXL size) in the event you want to keep them clean and pristine.
They do have the XXL now ? Great, here goes a few hundred more...

Just ordered another custom set to replace the ones in my 80 series. The ones I posted earlier were ordered for my 79 series and I just installed in the 80 for the time being. I’ve got high expectations about this combo.

Seat covers are the missing link to me here. I'm glad that there are a couple of places making them, I just wish they were less "tacti-cool."

Here are some others I found.

That's not a bad idea. After cutting a ton of trees on my last snow wheeling trip and being pretty covered in bar oil, I was definitely worried about getting in on the SMs.

I'm with you in principle, lot's of really nice things out there for our vehicles that are just a little too much for me stylistically. But I have to admit the MOLLE accessories for the Kinghtsbridge covers really have my attention.

I can't access that link at work. What's the approximate cost in $ or Euros?

Well, looks like the Delta Bags Covers are out since they aren't for XXL PIMPTHRONE

Note: Only fitting for scheel-man Vario, NOT for Vario XXL and Vario E.

Spent some time cleaning off my seats and replacing the gears on the drivers side back/forth motor. Likely going to order scheel man seats to replace the front seats in the near future. Also would be a nice welcomed weight reduction given how much the front seats weigh!

If you ever plan on recovering the seats and installing new foam the scheel mann seats are probably much better value.

4lb weight loss per side...
The OEM seat sure feels a lot heavier than the S-Ms. But I agree that an 8lb weight loss alone won't make a difference on a 5313lb stock curb weight (US trim) vehicle. It would be very difficult or expensive to trim more than 100-200lbs out of an FZJ80 by deleting sound deadening and power gadgetry.

I'll take the 4lbs weight loss..

And just keep trying to remove stuff I don't need
True. But like bicycles, race vehicles, and airplanes, you'll be in the dollars-per-gram in weight savings after a certain point. I'd LOVE to find an OBD-2 poverty pack truck with manual windows, no sunroof, no fiberglass flares, and rubber floor. But that isn't likely to happen. My goal in the seats was comfort and replacing the beat down OEM seats. Weight savings was a laughably minor bonus. And that worked out to about $600 per pound to shave eight pounds off the truck. Or $1.32 per gram
