Picked up a new to me 80 series. This will be a fun ride.

It joins a healthy Toyota family. Although, my 88 pickup will likely be sold soon so the 80 can get all the attention it wants/needs.

Yes. It’s been a wonderful restomod. All new running gear front to back.

I had an ‘84 that was the same color as yours.

Welcome, nice fleet! Is this your first cruiser? What made you jump into the 80 series? Any plans for it?

Yes first 80. My family cannot all ride in the truck. I’m going to regret selling it but this Land Cruiser is a blank slate so it will fun to tinker with. The final product will be much more tame versus the pickup. Plans include, 2.5” OME lift, short bus front bumper, warn 10k winch, slee step sliders, maybe ARB lockers. It already has 305/70/16 tires and i don’t believe i want to go bigger for this one.

Now that I’ve gotten over selling my 88 pickup it’s time to get going on the Emerald Pearl.

I have replaced the non-working antenna, stereo and useless cubby. Also the heater control valve cable. Next up is to baseline the engine and stop these pesky oil leaks.

Later will be 2.5” OME lift. Short bus bumper with warn 10k winch. White knuckle sliders. Maybe harrop/eaton e-lock front and rear.

Let the games begin.

What is this plug? Couldn’t find it on partsouq. Located top of oil pan right under the starter. Looks like its been missing for a while. The plug terminals are a little corroded. Oil temp or oil level sensor?

It’s the Oil level sensor. No sight of its plug though…. :/ I’ll have to dig around a little more.
