These 8" diffs are so cute. My old ass can toss them around with ease.

I'm back. Mission 100 was a success. Long two days. Two more amazingly clean Saudi trucks. Meshal killed it again.

Red was even impressed (rare)

I got them unloaded and turned back on the 80. The front axle is almost rebuilt with OEM
Parts.

I got a thousand bags of Toyota parts to redo the rear drum brakes I ordered for this thing before it even arrived. Finally got them all in today. Perfect timing.

Except the rear brakes were already brand new. They must have gotten rebuilt when @Meshal did the first refresh for the guy Doc bought it from.

Anyone need to rebuild a 70/80 rear drum axle? I gots the goods.

Got the lockers wired up and they are not working. Probably just a ground or something. Will dig into it more later.

Pulled the 80 out to pop the thermostat off.

When I was driving it a few weeks ago Doc saw that the temp gauge was only a 1/4 up and figured it was missing the thermostat.

It had one but it's a quicker opening unit versus what we normally use here.

Old was a 74* C and new is 83* C
Buttoned it back up.

Took it out to burn in the brakes and see how it drives. Great. Brakes are great (no ABS), suspension is perfect. Steering is great.

Temp gauge creeped up to about 1/3 with the new unit.

Seems like this guage is more accurate than a glorified idiot light like a US spec truck
