Just got back from Moab+ a few other stops.
Met up with another linked/ SAS’d 100 series
@TrailBornRunner - The dude parties hard with a flatbed
The car did great for all 3500 miles of a shakedown. White rim road was rad even though it snowed on us. Top of the world was a blast, and Hell’s Revenge was next level. I tried all the hard lines and barely made it up Hell’s gate even after getting stuck momentarily.
I found 3 of 8 loose motor mount bolts and a rear upper control up missing a nut when I got home but no broken parts (maybe a scratch or two). All in all it was a sick trip. The car was able to hit 90mph in some downhill sections but I was cruising at a happy 75mph for most of the trip. Going up mountain passes wasn’t fun, she needs more power to spin those 40s. Supercharger anyone?
Steering took a little while to get used to but I can drive it with a couple fingers in traffic now.
Wheeling it was fun, but it will take some time getting used to the width. I slipped off the right wall coming up hells gate towards the end because I thought I was wider than I am. Counterintuitive because it’s such a large car now.
40s feel like cheating, low range is good but something lower is to be desired. I was talking with Trevor about options for an Atlas case. Future ideas.
I need a stiffer rear spring, carrying 2 other dudes and a bunch of camping gear was too heavy for the current set up. I believe I have the 615V springs from dobinsons.
I had that Carolina squat going- not my style
Anyways here’s some pictures:
