Hey guys. I just got accepted off the waitlist yesterday for my first SAS. I saw that most people are staying at the KOA. I sent a message to thatKOAGuy but haven't heard anything yet. Is there someone I need to call to see about campsite availability?
YES... Call, he is not on here often. A lot of people still use the phone :)

Hey guys and gals. I am thinking of hitting the Great Sand dunes on the way home. Mapquest is showing to take 50 over to take 114 to 17 and down. I have taken 50 over the mountain, so I am ok with that. I will be pulling a 30' gooseneck and want to know if the other roads are friendly toward the size trailer.

I know this is a little off topic, but figured some of you may have taken that route. The other is to head south to Durago and go over Wolf Creek pass. I am more worried about the Million Dollar hwy :)

Thanks
Rob
Not trying to invite myself along, but I am looking for reasons to stay in CO as long as possible and avoid the long drive home, this looks like something cool to see and travel through. I assume since your trailering you're doing an in and out? Just for the day or thinking of overnighting there?
I like the idea of the off grid camping after a week at the KOA. And then drive on out east. Unfortunately it looks like the moon will be waning just after a full moon on Friday but it could still be great.

I am going to run either Blanca Peak or Holy Cross on Wednesday or Thursday after SAS if you are interested.

Not sure she’ll let me gone that long, assuming you’re talking about the 13th or 14th.
Or work, or my buddy coming along who has a real job…maybe I shouldn’t just blame her…

If you haven't had your fill of wheeling, there's a lot of stuff around BV and that area as well

Rode the alpine loop today on motos and it was clear. We tried to go up Poughkeepsie gulch but it was closed, still snowed in. I will have to go back in a few weeks and check it out.

Motor mounts, radiator & water pump way past their prime. Rearranged alt/PS pump orientation & wiring. Ethel seems much happier. We’re ready for SAS9.

Hats off to the local cruiser whisperers

pm on the way

Holley carb?
I have one of those air cleaners attached to one from when I got the truck.
Yessir! Had pretty good luck for last 9 years. At elevation is a little tricky. Those air cleaners are in decent demand.

Yeah, folks like ‘em for Sniper installs I think.
My Holley is a 350 I believe. I have a rebuild kit for it and may just rebuild it for kicks.

Wow! I missed a lot in this thread. All caught up for the moment.

I have a tent site all to my self at that moment. If anyone is in need I am open to sharing.
Hey Dennis I may take you up on that, we camped next to you and Ali last year.

I'm still waiting on the wait list, but optimistic that something will come through last minute.

@wtmtnterror Sure thing, just let me know. I will be happy to have you.

Well it looks like our FZJ80 BIG BETTY needs some Marlin crawler double lip eco-seals for the knuckles to stop the drip of gear oil so I’m gonna give @cruiseroutfit a call to buy a knuckle rebuild kit from one of our highly reputable sponsors for SAS.
Always quality products and great customer service! Give Kurt a call, he’ll do you right!
