Nothing to add except I’m ready to get out of dodge. By the time we leave I’ll have worked 24 out of the past 25 days at my day job, 25 out of 25 at the side biz (which I actually enjoy), and working on the truck almost every one of those days when I find scraps of free time yet still not getting everything done. All the important truck stuff is checked off the list, but not the vanity projects. Oh well. My coworkers are idiots, my ex-wife is an idiot, every day the roads are filled with idiots, people owe me money and they aren’t paying up, and I’m burning through cash like it’s a backyard bonfire party.

Get me the f**k to Ouray please. Now would be good.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to sit quietly and stare at this photo for a while.

Stop for 5 mins. Put on this song and find someone to dance with. I like using the dogs when they are visiting. You'll be feeling good

In all seriousness those hi mountains passes are no place to run a rig that has a bunch of known issues.
Just the facts.
Gotcha. I was kidding, but I wouldn’t bring a rig that I didn’t feel mostly confident in.
Don’t want to put anyone (or myself) in any sort of situation knowingly.

I’m litmus testing my rig at 10/11k leading up to SAS. In fact I’m on yet another shakedown trip on The Enchanted Circle grabbing lunch in Red River.

I’ll be driving to Ouray from Angel Fire so I’ll have plenty of chances for sh!t to go south while I’m heading north.

Thanks y’all. Stress levels are high. I know everything will change when we got the road!

In other news the truck is running pretty dang well after the past couple days of work.

My stress has also been through the roof too. Last night I didn't even want to go any more. I actually priced out renting a jeep... I said screw it and I closed this entire week. I'm taking this week to just work on my stuff. Pulled the mini into the shop today and changed out the fuel lines and alt. I can already feel my Zen coming back. Ill throw the frt clip back on tomorrow . Try to have it close enough to be a plan B . Then Tues I start fixing the frame on the 80. I will have the cracks fixed maybe even pulled back straight. Then do a cut and turn to fix the caster on the wrecked side .. FUN FUN FUN ...Be really nice to have time to throw a clutch in the crawler The thought of coming back from Vacation to a clean shop and all my toys fixed is appealing

Much easier to replace it now than on the trail somewhere . Even more so with all of us calling you a dumb ass for bringing a rig out with a pre known issue . Remember the 55 we had to leave on the trail last year Due to a bad clutch slave that he knew was bad ?? Dont be a Sean ..

You're not wrong. It's a REALLY minor weep. I've been keeping an eye on it all summer and haven't even added fluid.

Getting broken studs out sucks when things are going good.

Idk, I think I'd take that over a spun and broken semifloat shaft lol.

Better round up a hub Unless your really good and lucky at stud removal. I dont think I have ever gotten the dowel pins out after they broke. I have over size dowel pins if you need to drill them out . As always I have everything to fix it but for the hub . Thats prob a non us part at that. Or do you have a 80 axle under it ?

The list grows shorter...

My interior is done, though, so I met that goal a week early lol.

Were those graded bolts? Looks like it got all the dowels as well?
Yeah it literally shaved every single stud and pin. The good news about breaking parts is now I can make them stronger. Thinking of using a 40mm 10 grade hex head bolt in place of the studs. Also thinking I might bust out the drill press and use 10mm dowl pins instead the OEM 8mm ones.
