I emailed KOA because i didn't pick a site when I booked to see if I still could. They told me the KOA is under new management and they now only guarantee site types not specific sites. Are they just giving me the run around here or has anyone else experienced this?

You are correct. There was a shift in management after the new year. Be glad you have a spot.
