Getting the color you love is the cherry on top, but not nearly as important as it being rust free, having documented service history and overall condition. As others have said, the color palette for the 100 was kind of a head scratcher. White is easy to maintain, looks great and is classy. Black is a PITA for a daily driver and was the only color I would probably not consider regardless of vehicle condition.

Color was a big factor for sure. It didn’t have to be white but my wife’s car is black and I hate how dirty it gets and how hot it gets here in the desert summers. I was just looking for a light color and white happened to be the best available.

You can always wrap it.

I've definitely thought about the wrapping it, and I may if the color gets to me.

But with it being a private party sale from the original owner and most of the big items being done at 106k, I'm going to try and live with white. My friend is going to take a look at it after work today so hopefully it is "as advertised" and I'll be scheduling a road trip for next week.

Does it have paint still? Then it's perfect.

I happened across mine with black paint and now I'm a fan of black.

That antenna for communicating with a space station? Good Lord that thing is HUGE!

Kind of reminds of the demolition car in Idiocracy.......

It's very important. If you don't get Riverrock Green Mica you aren't getting the best color offered :D.

White is a coveted color around here.

ETA: that sounds like a great deal...
I've got silver and love it, but love me some RRGm! If I'm driving a white LC, it better be armoured.

If you don't like white...send me the info :).

BTW, this thread is worthless without pics!

Well as long as everything goes as planned, I’ll have to learn to live with white. The ppi went great. Brakes are less than half life and the tires will need replacing very soon. Otherwise in excellent condition with zero rust. We agreed on a price and now just to book the plane tickets to go get it.

Thanks for all the guidance. It’s nice having other like minded whack jobs to bounce crazy ideas off of. :flipoff2:

Buy the color you want. It is cheaper to fix A LOT of items on the 100 that cost WAY less than a color change.

Or get all millennial on it and vinyl wrap it.... any color of the rainbow, even chrome or brass if you'd like.

Color is only a factor for me when buying brand new.

My top choice was white. Ended up with a Pearlescent White LX. Super happy with it! Personally I wouldn’t compromise on color, as I would get annoyed every time I looked at it... but that’s me and I’ve been lucky finding colors I wanted. Except the silver 4Runner I gave to my stepson. Never did like the color, but they made a trillion of them.

Scroll through the photo thread—so many cool rigs in very color.

For me (I realize others may be different), color almost became irrelevant. Service history and condition were pinnacle. I could live with any color if it had the right history.

That said, white is one of my least favorite vehicle colors. Of course, the truck I found was white! It's really grown on me. Still probably my least favorite color.

I did realize in our search for a GX 470 that I really like the Lexus gold despite what seems to be universal hatred. So, the moral of the story is: force yourself to like the color that most people hate. You'll then be able to pick up great rigs that others have passed on due to color.
