Got my Sahara bumper installed yesterday, not hard but not a real easy job by yourself, well, my wife did help me with matching the wire colors, im a bit color blind.

I spent a couple of days doing the pre-work such as running the wires for the HID lights with a relay and rebuilding my winch which now works but is not firing on all cylinders.

Install was pretty straight forward, the toughest part was getting it lined up properly on the mount. If you dont have pneumatic tools, this job would be a good bit tougher because the area they provide you to work with is tight.

I do have a bit of the stink bug stance and will most likely need to reindex my torsion bars but for now I am digging it.

Oh yea, big thanks to The Fuzz for his wiring write up, that was a big help especially since there were no instructions included...

looks nice. That wiring writeup helped me with my ARB bull bar as well

Looks great! Did it come that color or did you have it color-matched to the other trim?

The Sahara comes powder coated that color. I had a bid to get it painted but when I picked it up I found that the grey was real close to stock which saved me $200.

Terry, I got it from jacque at TRDParts4u, they gave me the best deal I could find. I did order the 03+ model because it looks better than the pre 03. The guys at ARB told me that this would void the warranty and that there were modifications that made the install a bit different, thats not what I found and i'm not worried about the warranty. The chrome hoop looks good but I may at some point spray it with plasti dip to see how it looks in black that way if I dont like it I can peel it right off. Yall need to bring the 100 to the Summit this year!

I still have to mount the license plate, the bar didnt come with the mounting nuts so I will just bolt it on.

They gray looks great with the black, Matt.

I also agree, plastidip that chrome :)
Those Saharas look great with or without the hoop. I like the option of being able to remove it to change the look if you want to.

Does the Sahara have Hi-Lift lifting points like the combo bar?

For now I like the chrome hoop even though it goes it goes against my normal chain of though.

If I remove the hoop it would leave two big round holes in the buffers, you can get new buffers without the holes if needed. The hoop is purely for looks and weighs almost nothing.

Nope, no hi lift point on the Sahara but I could use the Metal Tech sliders if need be.

How did you mount your solenoid box on top like that? have any more pics of it? Looks real nice. I have the same lights on my bumper as well.

3D, I took a piece of bar steel and cut it to size then drilled out four holes, two for mounting and two to mount the solenoid mounting plate to the bar...I used existing holes in the plate as a template for the holes on the bar. I then ground out a small area where the cables come out of the box and made the whole bar nice and smooth then painted the bar to match. The bar bolts to the two holes that are supposed to be used to mount the cover plate if you are not mounting a winch. I also cut up the rubber gasket and glued a piece of it to the bottom of the control box to keep it from rattling against the bumper.

Nice. I'm still trying to figure out where i want to mount my control box. I will be however using the cover over the winch. With the LX, it's a lot easier because my whole front grill swings up. I'm planning on placing the box somewhere inside the engine bay... if i ever get around to it.

I thought the 98-02 looked the same as the 03-07 sahara bumper.

Its my understanding that the 98-02 only has fog lights and not the combo of fogs and indicator lights, at least thats what the guys at ARB told me. I have seen a picture of one but cant seem to find it.

My pre-03 Sahara has all of the lights mentioned. Fog, turn signal, etc...

It looks just like the one on ARB's site.

The 03+ "bull bar" has fog lights vs. the non- fog lights of the 98-02 "bull bar". (probably this is where the miscommunication from ARB occurred)

That seems odd, ARB didnt have stock of the pre 03 Sahara but did have stock of the 03 +, I wonder what the difference is then?

Matt, Love it, looks real good! I need to swing by your place to tighten my torsion bars one of these days...

ARB is air bag sensor compatible isn't it? Was it easy to relocate those?

Ill post up some more pics soon. You dont relocate any airbag sensors during the install.

Looks good.
I will go for the same bar.
What wiring writing are you guys talking about?
