Was watching an older YouTube video of an fj45, and noticed this the Saginaw pump mounted high on the passenger side, does anyone know what mount this is?

maybe an overseas 2F power steering pump mount???
as that is where the PS pump mounts in overseas 2F's

My 1968, was modified by the previous owner with a Saginaw system, with the pump high on the passenger side. And the alternator was on the drivers side. I’m pretty sure he completed this mod in the mid to late 70’s. I relocated to the PS pump to the drivers side adapting the pump to a smog pump mount. I relocated the alternator back to the passenger side using the Vintage Air AC bracket. My relocation was done during restoration in 2017.

I’m pretty sure he mounted the PS pump using a modified alternator bracket. The steeping box was mounted to a home made plate welded to the frame and the pitman arm was a Chevy part welded to a Toyota part. It was pretty sketchy…..

I’m sure that in the 70’s there wasn’t an abundance of mounting kits…..but an awful lot of write ups in Off Road and 4 WD magazines…it was a ‘home made’ endeavor at best.

Was hoping there would have been an off the shelf option, I have just about everything to install a Volvo pump, but still have to relocate my alternator, was trying to avoid de-looming a 55 year old wiring harness, to move the alternator.

My Saginaw pump is high on the driver's side, USA model. I believe it was Cruiser solutions or something like that. It has been a year or so.

I came upon this thread because I picked up a 2F that has some sort of aftermarket pump kit mounted on the passengers side high up like the one you posted and I'm trying to find more information on aftermarket kits.

There are no markings that I can find, maybe there is something under the gunk, I'll find out. Also the pump is something I cannot identify - def not the standard GM pump. I have seen my fair share of different styles - it looks older, 60s or something., IDK.

So it seems there are some kits out there. Let us know what you find out. Also this engine came out of a PIG but should still be valid.

The trade off is having 3’ long hoses running across the engine compartment to reach a passenger side pump.

I have a’64 that has no bosses on the cylinder head to move the alternator to, so I had to fabricate a passenger side mount that came up from the motor mount. It’s not rocket science; it just takes time. I chose to make a platform, then attach an alternator bracket to the platform. A couple of mock ups to figure out the optimal location for the pump, then drill and slot the platform to ensure dial-in adjustability.

Been in service since 2006 without issue.😊

I think I remember seeing that pump in a ‘66 Cadillac.

I have all the brackets and pump too, now I’m just collecting all the parts for the box mount and steering shaft. Appreciate everyone’s input. Just always looking at other options and solutions. I always get caught going down the rabbit hole.
