OK, I was driving my `76 FJ40 home, heard a jingle, then a horrible noise.
The air pump pulley popped off, which sent the belt into the fan and did some damage.
I'm getting a new air pump and fan blade, but having a hard time figuring out what belts I need.
Power steering was added about 15 years ago, but I have no idea where it came from.
The belt on the left (alternator) was clearly marked Gates TR22495, so I ordered a new one of those.
The belt on the right (power steering and air pump) only has these marking on it: 17X1215
When I google it, I have to dig really deep and all I've come up with is a John Deere fan belt from Denmark.
Do I have to be picky here? If I can come close to diameter and width will I be OK?

That fan looks nasty. How fast were you going when the pully came off? Did it do any damage to the radiator?

I would think if the wedge of the belt is close to the groove of the pullies and you can adjust the tension you should be alright.

If I might make a suggestion based on experience, I would pull the bracket that holds the smog pump to the block and slot the mounting holes at least an 1/8" front and back. I'd venture a guess that the PS pulley is not in perfect alignment with the others, and put lateral pressure on the pump, contributing to the failure. Slotting the holes may not net you perfect alignment. But the odds are it will improve enough to make it worth the effort.

This. You need to figure out why the belt was thrown.
