Saginaw conversion high pressure hose/return fitting info

For the record (or FAQ section), 1980 and older Saginaw pumps have a 5/8" inverted flare fitting on the power hose, return side can be simple hose and clamp (no pressure). 1981 and newer pumps use a 16mm O-ring fitting on the pressure hose, and simple hose and clamp on the return hose. Gear boxes get into an array of fitting choices depending upon 1980 older/newer Saginaw, or Toyota Pickup, or FJ60. PM me if you need to know what these are!!!

mt,
Good find. With that setup it's also easy to add a small oil cooler on the low pressure return. If the PS is working hard it helps keep the oil temp down.

Yep! I run a $30 trans cooler (off the shelf Pep Boys part) in front of the raidiator, low on the driver side.
The setup has worked great for me for a couple of years now!
