Not mine and no affiliation, but if everything checks out it’s almost enough for me to get back in the market for 60...

1986 Toyota landcruiser fj60 208k miles on dash but engine has less than 50k rebuilt with paperwork. Has 40 gal.gas tank professionally installed and with a 5 speed upgraded manual transmission. All records of work and goes back when first owner had it.I just did the window tint couple weeks ago. Heavy duty roof rack. Pioneer audio system with amplifier and subwoofer. To much to list, clean inside and out. California car all it's time Clean title in hand under my name ready $13,000.00 thank you

"To much to list, clean inside and out." There is never too much to list. No pics of the inside. Sounds too good to be true or the guy is too lazy to post interior pics. That being said I want to find an excuse to buy it.

Can’t believe it’s been up for 7 days...

H55- $2500+ labor
40 gal tank - $1000 + labor
Old style ARB front - $1000
Kaymar (?) Rear- $1800
Roof rack $5. ( I'm biased!)

Makes for a pretty cheap 60.

Totally. I wasn't joking when I said it's almost enough to get me back in the market. I almost didn't post it here!

But like most things...probably too good to be true for one reason or another.

I just wrote him a moment ago requesting interior pics and evidence of the rebuild. If I get a response I'll update here.

I'm not seriously considering this...my wife's out of work due to COVID, and pregnant (with #3), so if I came home with an old Land Cruiser I'd probably be asked to live in it too.

Whatever. Excuses.

:p

I talked to the seller. He says that he’s looking to get rid of it so he has some buffer with things being uncertain. He sent me these interior pics. Not the greatest but gives you a general idea of what the interior condition is.

Damn...I’d love to pick this thing up, that’s a clean interior in my book. If it’s still available in a few months who knows...maybe I can come up with an excuse.

“But baby, you don’t understand, it’s got DUAL BATTERIES!”

I to tried to contact him the day it listed asking for pics and info...got crickets and I'm local. Its a tough time, people loosing jobs left and right, and Sacramento has a major covid problem.

I’m local as well. He said he had to go down to LA to take care of his mom until next week.

bump, wish we were local (except California wouldn't allow be to be a citizen of it's country...) would love to see this in person!

I've tried to contact the owner with a few questions - initially I heard back once (a few weeks ago), but that was it.

Hey guys, I'm new to Ih8mud and a former owner of a Fj62. I'm looking at getting back into the FJ world. Like all of you, I've eyed this rig. Went to give it a glance, talked with owner and drove it around the block. Seller is super firm on the price and has had a handful of people walkaway. I found a multitude of issues and isn't as clean/rust free as he mentioned. However, I'm still interested....Anyone know where I can get a local (preferably mobile) pre-buy? OR a knowledgeable local willing to make a little bit of cash for an educated opinion? I just don't want to fall for a POS for $13K... especially since he made it clear that he won't be responsible for smog and seems somewhat resistant to bringing it to a local shop.

One of these shops might be able to assist or refer you to someone. I see a few in the Sacramento general area. There's 21 pages to it so I recommend also doing a keyword search in that thread or a broader Forum search for Sac. I like the 5-speed option on that rig.

If he won’t be responsible for smog most like that means it won’t pass. I’m sure he will eventually budge on the price seeing it’s been for sale for a while. It doesn’t seem like an unreasonable price for what it’s worth
