Runva Winches

So I got a link for these for sale in Canada. They are quite inexpensive. I followed through the interweb looking at opinions and experiences. They seem to be popular in New Zealand, there is a #9500 competition winch that looks good. It is not available on the Canadian website.
What I found a lot of comments were about is they seem to be hard on batteries. I'm not sure how that could be, unless they have poor motors with huge amp draws. But anything up to and including 500 Amps is considered normal to me.
So I'm looking for any and all feed back on these - especially from the crowd down under who seem to be the target audience.

It is just another Chinese winch. They all have the same interchangeable parts but they have different brand stickers on them. They are like peas in a pod. Roll the dice.

I've had a Runva for a couple of years now and have never had an issue. I did have one warranty claim, but it was entirely my fault and Runva still replaced the drum.

The warranty issue came from a day of probably 50 pulls in some very deep snow. I kept side loading the winch (lack of patience) and bent the drum. Runva shipped me a new drum and case screws that week at no cost.

yeah they are pretty popular down here in NZ mate, I don't run one but they have turned into a recognised brand here and the pick of the Chinese stuff, a lot of guys are pretty hard on their winches with our bush conditions and submerging them under water and mud all the time, they do fail but more through use and abuse much the same as any winch so they get treated as consumables, we're now seeing a lot of them in our competitions on entry level to mid range vehicles. You don't really hear our guys complaining about them they are good value for money and have a reasonable service life, the distributor here also provides top service

The 8274 is really exy compared to our price of 1800 to 2100usd in malaysia wow.

Thanks guys. My ultimate winch would be a Gigglepin 8274, but $$$!!
I think I will try a Runva, I can get an 115000 with synthetic rope for less than $500. With the new electronic solenoids, it's an exceptional deal and I think worth the cost.

I have the Runva 12k with synthetic line. Used it a few times, including for several very hard pulls when my truck was buried in the snow. It's been perfect so far.

After much searching I finally got on the phone and called Runva.ca and ordered a 500A solenoid for my Warn winch. It cost me $62 after taxes and free shipping! I am really happy, it seems well made. I decided to go this route so I can have a winch that is operational and I'm being cheap. I will be running the long cables from the battery to the back, and using a Anderson plug to connect the winch, so I can also have a set of boosters with an Anderson plug as well for boosting from the rear.

I bought a 4.5X Runva winch from Canada. What a piece of junk. I only used it for two years just to raise and lower a snow blade a few times. I wasn't told that these were not to be used outside in the weather. After just two years the pot metal in the motor housing just turned to dust, the paint fell off and the magnet came loss and broke.
I called Runva and told them of the trouble. They said they would call back, never did, now when I call them, only a answer machine, they will not talk to me.
I need to write the Runva CEO, or some officer of Runva.
I have pictures of the damage if anyone would care to see what happen to the winch.
