is the 40 making the trip? or the other truck?
it sure is nice, can't wait!

and people thought this thread was going to be about Pinot and Charcuterie....
i'm tellin ya..
Oh it will. Give it time...

One other thing to say about the wagon run, AND to get us closer to the preferred topics of food, coffee, and drink...

I encourage EVERYONE signed up on the wagon run, to sign up for the Rubicon Wine Tasting. I believe you need to sign up ahead of time, but it is a great event and your $25 fee all goes to the Rubicon Trail Foundation, who have led the effort to keep the trail open all these years. Not to mention there's a lot of great wine and great camaraderie. It's also a much safer event than the Marauder Bar! :skull:

Even if you don't drink wine, you should support this great event.

Yep, it was great fun last year, signed up again this year!

Agreed! Watch out. Those drinks double in strength every hour until the last round is mostly booze with a floater of mixer. Makes the walk back to the slabs interesting...especially with your :princess: howling at the moon.

HAM's are essential IMO on a group of this size and a trail like the Rubicon.

Could not agree more. Especially if you break something and need to locate someone that has brought along a spare.

Another year goes by and I am unable to make it to the CON. Enjoy for all those who are unable to make it. I hope to be there next year!

dang it...
hey, did you ever attempt the Soup Bowl line in your rig when it had the 40's and full cage?
I'm wondering if an 80 has ever completed that line.

Yes, I did the Soup Bowl last time through. I believe it would be doable on 37's. As Group leader, I think it is only fair that you show us how it is done @PabloVTA , Pls take pics. I definitely intend on some local runs in July.

They aren't the best but a boafeng UV-5R from amazon is way better than nothing for trail coms and theyre cheap too.
I will still need to get my technicians lisence correct?

Greetings everyone! My name is Don Larson, and this will be my first Rubithon. I'll be driving my white FZJ80. My buddy Cliff (@Skidoo ) will be my co-pilot (his first Rubithon, too). Cliff and I have been to Cruise Moab several times and had a blast. We know this will be another great run with a great group. Looking forward to it.

We had a great time last year for our first Rubithon, looking forward to Round Two this year with all of our "old" friends.

it's best if you did...but if the scheduling doesn't work out, just listen along. With this many trucks on the trail, it'll be imperative to keep listening and chatter to a minimum.
I used a set of CD's to train and found a local test. It was a 4CD pack that I would listen to on the way to work and home and it made the test really easy to pass.

only group I'm leading is to the Taco bar...and I don't have 37's..so I'm a spectator at the Soup bowl.
c'mon man, drive up next week, you can squeeze off a few days...

If all is well, we might have a sat phone and maybe able to share a few minutes for the peeps that wants to call home and check on the kids.

Just don't call your ex high school girlfriend!
