Speaking of which, I left a Beofeng radio with the extended range battery in someone's truck when it died when I was walking. If you come across this, I'd like to have it back. Thanks.

Jesus. That kicked my ass.

The truck, however, continues to amaze me.

Nice to meet you surfpig. Please stop leaving your clothes on someone else's camp...

Andy, was it bright blue in color?

Andy, was it bright blue in color?

No, just the regular black. I did see someone walking around with a blue one, and David Usem had a yellow one. I don't even care about the radio, but the long range battery is worth Keeping. On mine, when you turn it on, it's programmed to show my call sign -KI6MIE

Ok, Dale had the blue one and handed it off to me. Maybe it's someone else's from the Wagon Run and they'll chime in. I'll also post up on the main Rubithon thread.

It was nice to see old faces and meet new ones. My uncle and I had another great time.

Thank you @RadarFJ40 for bringing those trail spares and Jim for the dessert.

Thank you Rick, Andy, Pablo, Onur, Eric, Dale and all of you Wagon guys.

See you all next year Pryor and Mark family and BadReligion...

-John

Another awesome adventure! Thanks again to the leadership who pulled this whole thing together, and specifically to the Wagon Run committee for their assistance. My second time through was a lot less stressful than the first! I look forward to the challenges and rewards of leading the Wagon Run next year. from

I also wanted to ask if anyone lost an extended capacity battery for a Baofeng hand held radio as we found one and I have it. If so, PM me with details.

See you next year, and Happy Trails!

another epic trip, and my son's first Rubicon adventure.
First: thank you...each and every one of you. Amazing family of wheelers who looked out for my son, and myself, and watching over 60 others involved in our gathering.
Second: wow...the trail was way harder than I remember it from 2 years ago.

Trail damage report:
  1. broken rear passenger tail light lens cover and side marker
  2. bent both lower control arms, driver side way worse than passenger.
  3. dented belly pan, no worries.
  4. broken knuckle studs on passenger side, trail repaired and will replace knuckle, etc.
  5. front brake lines on passenger side came off mounting plate, no critical, but will fix when i have it tore down. Will drill and tap control arms on front driver side to mount the lines to as well.
  6. license plate got mangled...whoop de doo.
So , I came home with all the charcuterie I took along...since I didn't make it back to camp until 9:30 the night I was supposed to have appetizers for us. I can't tell you how relieved I was to hear that my son was fine and all of you took over a watchful eye. We talked about it a lot on the way home. He loved meeting all the "guys" and already misses Onur and wants to re-swim the Turd Island adventure.
Water play at the Springs was a blast.
Following David up Cadillac Hill was fun. We both got hung up on the muddy spot, he damaged his rear Drive line there and I'm pretty sure that's what did in my lower control arm as well. Thanks to the HI-Lo guys for the winch off it.
My winch is going in next week. Lesson learned.

For the big trail bust I had: thanks to the whole run for rummaging thru your stuff and handing over spares, tools, backpacks, all of it. I owe Rick a huge pile of money and parts, and there are a few others that sent me things, so let me know who needs the spares replaced, I am gladly placing an order with Onur real soon and will get them to you so you have them for your next trip. Thanks for running them down the whole trail to us, and thanks Andy for coaching me thru the mechanics of disassembling a knuckle on the trail.

It was fun to meet everyone, I was stoked I got thru so many lines without a spotter, and truly appreciative of Dale and Tom walking so far in that heat and keeping us safe. Onur, I can't rally put it into words, other than; "yeah Bro!", Alvaro:"dood", David:"yep", Team Pryor: "thanks so much for everything; thanks MOM!"

I'll get to more later, but for now...just trying to relive it all again and fight off my productivity at work for another week.

I am very appreciative of all my new friends and old. It truly was an epic adventure.

I thank each of you for your patience and passion for our sport. It is because of this trail family that I am home safely and in mostly one piece.

Believe it or not, I drove to Sacramento with my dented and scarred drive shaft with NO issues. Then with NASCAR precision (on the street in front of Andy's in 90 degree + heat), pit boss Onur dropped my drive shaft and Andy swept it away to the drive line shop for repair. 24 hours later, a fully repaired driveshaft ready for re-installation. To quote Andy "it is like new". I look forward to reinstalling it this weekend.

To everyone that stacked rocks, hi-lifted, winched, wrenched, tinkered, spotted, told stories, cooked, drank, and laughed (not necessarily in that order), THANK YOU for making this such a fantastic week on the 'con.

Cheers to us all!

As been said before, had a great time with a good bunch of people. This was our second run and it was a lot "smoother" this time around. Can't wait 'til next year -I won a 2017 registration in the raffle, so I'm committed now!

Rubithon's version of Anthony Bourdain... Central Coast Land Cruisers in our hill billy shade eating Adidas aka "chicken feet". Rick Cortez tried and said they were good - unless he was just being nice. Lol. No one wanted to try the infamous "Balut".

-yes, Filipinos are sick in the head!

Our home made version of "Thrasharoo". My wife made them out of burlap material. They served their purpose.
