First off I'm a Noob!
I have a 73 Fj40 with a SBC, SM420, and an unknown 4" lift that the PO intsalled. I'm planning on going SOA. I have two bent springs and Just aquired a set of Fj60 axels that I'm setting up with 4.10 and ARB's. I have a buddy that is 300 miles away that has a set of Rubicon Express YJ SOA springs that he will give me if I go get them. Questions as fallows,
Will this set up be to tall?
Will the signaw PS conversion clear the springs?
Im planning on outboarding the hangers and I have to replace the rear hangers since they are bent so the difference in length doesnt matter. Does anyone have any pics of this set up?
Thanks in advance.

P.S. I tried to search for this but didnt find any answers.

My concern with using the yj springs is the weight difference between a yj and an fj40. I think you will sag the yj springs out pretty quickly running them under a 40. If you can get some extra leaves then you would probably be ok, just add them in when the springs start sagging.

Seen one truck set up soa on stock yj springs. Think he only ran them up front. No idea if any or how many leaves were added to the stock packs. He seemed happy enough.
I have a couple sets a buddy gave me that I considered using (but didn't). A bit longer than stock and narrower, with a centered pin. In your case free new flat springs; I'd probably try them, easy enough to increase spring rate if your 40 is that much heavier :meh:.

If I'm not mistaken, most guys that run jeep springs run XJ leafs.

I guess you can use whatever works really.

I know someone on here recommended them as working really well - That was with a 350 in front. May not work as well with a 2f.

I found the same info but nobody seems to know who it is. I'm going to go back on the hunt for a good used set of Fj springs unless anyone has some recommended springs that work well as a daily drive and mild Crawler.
