Yea, I know the RS3000 dealer installed system is lame but I'm trying to fix at least one of the annoying features (auto door relock unless one of the front doors is opened) I thought is was installed incorrectly as it only recognizes when one of the front doors have been opened but searched and found at least one other person with the same issue.

Anyhow, my shop manual doesn't appear to have any info on the security system. What I could use is a full wiring diagram showing how it interfaces with the rest of the truck. At the very least, what is the third 4 pin connector for on the controller? Mine has one wire that runs up into the dash and isn't connected to anything. Any chance its an antenna? TIA

As far as I know, a full electrical wiring diagram for the RS3000 as installed in a Land Cruiser does not exist. You can download the RS3000 EWD for several model Toyotas from a couple of places, but the LC is not included:

Slee has .tif images of the FAXed pages from the Toyota Service Support Center of all of the RS3000 manuals, including the EWD, available here: http://www.sleeoffroad.com/technical/tz_alarm_manual.htm

If you prefer PDF versions of these same manuals, you can download them from here: http://hdcruisers.angeltowns.net/index.html or here: http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/home/tef/RS3000/

I believe Beowulf is responsible for getting these manuals (the second link above is his web site), so thanks are owed to him. Some pages are missing from the installation guide and the EWD, but they are still very useful documents.

It's a pity the EWD does not include the LC, but I found the diagram for the 4 Runner (page 3) similar to the LC. Don't get misled by the diagram on page 29 labeled "Land Cruiser GBS." It's for a glass breakage sensor alarm and does not include the RS3000 control unit.

Good luck. If you end up tracing out the connections, please create at least a hand drawn diagram and post it up here.

Excellant! That is what I was looking for.

All these links are currently not available. Looking for main unit (brain) schematic. Anyone?

I'm interested in this as well, as I just picked up a 97 that oddly enough didn't have a RS3000 port-installed. I just picked up a used one and was looking for the connections just so I can hook into for Keyless, lock chirp/flash, and auto door locks ONLY, no alarm, starter interrupt, or Glass sensor.

I would love to know if there's anyone out there that could fix the main 'brain' module of this security system.

Best I've found, and this helps your issue...not at all, is install manuals for early 2000s Tacomas and Tundra's... maybe Corolla too.

Nothing as technical as you're looking for.

I just remembered that I have the original owners manual for the security system. I wonder if there's an EWD in it.

I have an owner's manual taken from a Corolla install... Seems very generic but I figure with the full car EWD that I have, along with the service manual, I should be able to make it work somehow...

Besides I only want it for keyless entry only, not worried about glass breakage starter interrupt...

Same here with the keyless entry.
