That makes sense, so putting a fuse in. However that also isn't done for starter wires? Or is there a fusible link somewhere that I have not seen?

Yes, use always use a fuse, and if current can flow both ways, fuse both sides as close to the source as possible.

OEM do not fuse the starting wires. Fuses tend to be more problematic at high current loads.

If the inverter isn’t a Victron or maybe RedArc, me doubts it is going to put out anything close to 3k pure sine. As others have said, there is a lot to consider here. I’d certainly heed the advice and bench test this before going to all the work of mounting. You may be disappointed.

No the starter wires are not fused. They're also not 10awg. They are sized appropriately for the available current.

Honestly i prefer the gas stoves. I switched over to the Iwatani single that uses butane bottles. Same as the other ones, but puts out a bit more heat. I sometimes use a 400w inverter off directly off the battery to use a small rice pot 300w while running the engine for showers. I like the idea of the DC DC charger as it is a pre set maximum amount of amps it can deliver to the second battery. This way you use a smaller gauge cable to run to the charger. When i usually cook it’s either small meals or big meals depending on the group so I just use a bigger dual burner stove with a 5lb propane tank. No perfect way to do it.

Also saw in another forum on here that you can buy the RedArc chargers cheaper from Mopar as it seems they come factory in many of their vehicles.

Just fyi, The Redarc that Mopar is selling is the Core model which is a little different from the normal BCDC. It’s not to be used in engine bay or anywhere where it can get wet. It’s an OEM version that really isn’t supposed to be available for retail sale.

Thank you, was reading the description on it and seemed off as other guys have said. It also looks like they do sell the under hood version. Although I could be wrong, this is all new to me.
