Gotcha. You then have an early 60 clutch fork that is designed to interface with the early style adjustable slave cylinder. If you purchased a slave cylinder for an 81-84 FJ60 I bet your current clutch fork would work just fine.

The issue is that the 3f bellhousing doesnt have the bolt hole for the slave cilinder braket that comes in the early model.

Back lift is on.

I have a old brake line from a 62 that a parted out and it matches great for the clutch line. I like to keep it as factory as i can but the line is discontinued. So this is a very good solution for me.

The rest of the parts are ordered and should be here next week.

!!

Sucks that the clutch fork is holding up the transmission install.

Are you going to bring this 62 out on the relic run?

If it is ready yes. I have everything else ready to go in.

Are you going to need the oil pan for the 2f?

Plans changed, made the decision last night instead of calling you to salvage one of the pans I have here at the house. Sorry for leaving you hanging like that!!

No problem. I have three here if anything changes.

The parts are starting to get here. All new switches from arb. The clutch line is flared ( thanks to h&h ) and ran, the soft line is installed. I am goint to weld a braket to hold the soft line.

The starter got overhauled. I am kind of impacient all these things have to be done but i will prefer to do them with the tranny installed. I am going to cut off the brakets for the old transmission but i cannot reweld them because i dont know where they are going to be.

That's a tricky job right there. I had a tough time making sure to cut the mounting ears off in a way that they were salvageable. It is easy to remount and weld them though, no problems there. Super convenient using the transmission to locate the crossmember.

I cut one today it does suck to cut it. I am going to try with plasma cutter next.

Compressor and wiring are installed. I hope the parts for the lockers show up tomorrow and i can install them over the weekend. The fork has not been shipped yet but it is coming from florida it should be here the begining of next week.

You really need to get this project moving Raf - this is taking forever ;-)

Plasma was the easiest method I used. Others have had luck with a cutting wheel on a dremel, but I don't have enough patience for that crap

The tranny is in and bolted on. There is a lot more work and welding to do hopefully it will be done this week.

Hey, i have been working on getting this truck ready and i am happy to say, It is ready.

The tranny was in about a week ago and had a small issue with the crossmember. Thanks to @mel lowe i got it taking care of. While waiting for the right crossmember i go the rear locker installed, all seal replaced, ran the air line and did some other small fixes here and there.

I tried to cut the frame suport off and really i was not happy with the way the first one came out. So i bought i piece of angle iron and cut some soports reinforced them and welded them in place. They work out very good and i am happy with the results.

I am going to install the front locker when i get back from disney but i really dont think it will be needed. My only concern is that the front pinion has a lot of play and most likely i will have to get in there anyways to take care of that.

I drove the truck around town today and everything seems to be working right. I just want to get things warmed up and under stress before i go too far from home.

I like the power and the responce it is just not the nice comfortable ride of the 80. For the most part it is done. I will inspected, tag it and insure it and hopefully make it to the relics run in it.

Thanks to the people that help me gather the parts @beno @mel lowe. Those the offered me a hand and my schedule didnt allow me to get the help and the cheer voices on this thread. If anyone needs some help or advice on how to do this please feel free to reach me. i will be glad to share some experience.

I have a question now.
What do i do with all these extra bolts and screws that i have left? Should i just ignore them and keep going
;-)

They say that all good mechanic has parts left. Or is it the other way around?

Hahaha

I like that Toyota includes all those bolts you don't need. Kinda' like a fastener 401K. The longer you work on Toyotas the more bolts in your "savings account."

When I have a bunch of bolts left over I smile to myself and think of the old saying among racers, "Adding lightness."
