I wish I could say I was a lifelong lover of Land Cruisers but until the middle of August I hadnt even seen an fj40...Maybe in a magazine or TV but I probably didnt know what I was looking at....Certainly havent seen any in real life until the day I was asked by my wife if I wanted one...

That was August 22nd of this year...08...

Since then I've had a crash course in Land Cruisers and the people who love them...This website greatly influenced not only my keeping what I bought (when I was overwhelmed) but also fixing what wasnt right and being patient when I had newb questions...

Now, I drive it every day...often propping my 7 yr old in the middle of the bench seat between me and my wife or daughter....The heep people often gawk at the bench seat deal...:)...jealousy I'm sure....

Much more work to do but its driveable and enjoyable for now...Thanks to each of you for contributing the information thats helped me and providing inspiration with each build...

The day we paid:

And of course the back up camera monitor....I know for the purists or hard core wheelers you might be wondering...but, I have a little hard time turning my neck so I added some extra insurance to make sure I was backing ok....

Then comes the soft top and how it looks now...

Anyway I enjoy seeing your cruiser Thanks for posting her up

Nice truck, another example of hard work pays off !!

Really nice truck. Is that gasket behind the bezel a stock thing or something you made?

Thanks all....I'm really enjoying it...

I used press on door trim/protectors for the bezel...It worked well and still looks great...It was about 3 bucks a pack and it took 2 packs...I really like the way it worked out...

Well done.....

Did that year have rubber pads that go between the bib and the hood? Hate to see that new paint get scratched up.

That thing look awesome! Great work!

Later,

oh yeah, you owe me a new keyboard too.

i just drooled all over it and now my arrows don't work.:grinpimp:

Cool idea with the door trim. It really makes the bezel stand out from the bib.

Nice 40.

Man what a beautiful truck Jim. Congrats again on the score but now it just makes every forty i look at seem over priced :D
