I could not even begin to fathom rebuilding an automatic transmission. Your work is fantastic!

Yep, I plan on trying to get to Moab this year again after a failed attempt last year. Rubicon is appealing too. Not sure how more years that'll be open.

Hell YEAH brotha.
Youre a sick MO FO for breaking into that tranny!
Nice job!
I DO NOT have the stones to even attempt that one.
My hat is off to you.
Its looking great!

I didnt realize that this was a build up off of your ROTW...
Im glad that I re checked it. Looking forward to the progress.
I hear what youre saying about putting a ton-o-cash into the 60...I was really close to nixin mine for a 40, but a friend talked me out of it.
Sometimes youre made to feel like the 60 series is the ugly step child of the cruisers and its not worth crap for wheelin...
screw it. They take a little bit of building, but theyre just as capeable as any other IMO. They all have their down sides for sure.

Get it on brotha!

BTW, Im stealin your front bumper design...that thing rules!

Yeah I decided to just keep this thread going rather than start a new one with the new stuff. That way people can see the whole progression and where it started from. Maybe I should get Mace to change the name slightly to be "appealing" to click on. I honestly really appreciate comments good or bad. Most of my ideas and thoughts have been generated from other threads and comments.

Wheelin a 60 is great... I usually get a lot of people walk up and ask a ton of questions just because you dont see them on the trail that often. I'm sure that the body and frame will slowly erode of the next few years in favor of a tubing (or tube chassis) but I plan on always using a 60 "theme" for it and retain as many of the practical elements/parts of it as possible. Putting money into the drivetrain doesnt really phase me because I know I can use it on project down the road.

I wish I could take credit for the front bumper but its actually a Man-it-ain't free bumper/4+. It is really nice though!

Would be interesting and totaly nice make a tube body with some fiber panels, just to keep something of 60 series on it .. and keep the LWB ...

David... I only wish that you were closer and I paid more attention in spainish class...

It means my english it's getting worse ..? :hillbilly:

you are a true friend and I look foward to the day I get to meet you in person.

I'm not sure how the world it's going right now .. when, but I'm positive in some day .. I hope we can walk and get on the front seats of a Land Cruiser ( without help ) to take a off road ride this day .. :D

Thanks for those kind words dude .. I'm still saving money for my off road trip in USA ..

I have had to put the saws-all back three time this month my self :meh: with Baby #3 on the way I cant any time soon :princess:

lookin good Bro can what to see it done and wheelin keep the pics comin for us non builders  we will do the same when you cant build ...

so I got some real motivation to get this thing done... My wife told me she was prego again! That'll keep the roof on the cruiser for another couple years I think...

Great news! Are you going to have it on the ground for the christmas tree run?

Have you ever thought about going with an exo? Or is the overall plan to go lighter?

If I decide to do the motor later and keep the th350 in there for now the chances are pretty good.

I'm not a huge fan of exo cages but I would like to protect the front windshield frame along with the roof line. I've seen a pretty cool hybrid exo/internal cages that alot of XJ guys run. Basically its a n internal cage that goes through the roof to accomadate "roof sliders" and then continues down the winshield pillar and through the front fender. I'M STRONGLY considering this approach.
