holy moly man those joints and brackets look the beef bro.

Don't go running out and spending your $ on a tranny jack I have one you can borrow!

just let me know. :)

Clint

thanks Clint... I might take ya up on that jack.

The joints are BEEFY!!!! I like the fact that I can use 3/4bolts in them too. :) You should see the lower link tube they're going into... 2 3/8ths .500 DOM. :)

nothing really worth noting or picture worthy... I cut my link stock and took it over to LCNW to have them bore them to accept the tube adaptors. I also cut off all the link brackets that were on the D60 and started grinding the nubs off that I couldnt get close enough with the plasma. The grinding is what is really really slowing me down. There are only limited hours I get to do this between getting home from work, eating dinner, hangin with the fam, and then trying to get some grinding done before the baby goes down. I should have some decent time this weekend to get all my grinding done and setting up the brackets for the links. I might also start mocking up my crossmembers if my hydraulic kit for my bender gets here from copperhead fab too.

I bet having that plasma reduces the amount of grinding you have to do. If you need grinding help shout out, I'm sure with a couple grinders we could throw enough sparks to burn something down. :bounce2:

yeah, the plasma helps I didnt want to get overzealous and get into the housing by mistake. The biggest pain is where the old link brackets were welded to the knuckles. Getting the grinder in there is tedious. Funny you mention burning something down... my wife checks the garage every time I'm done in there for fires.

HEY!! :flipoff2:

I really really really wish I had a bigger garage! Or was building a buggy!

uh call me crazy but this isn't a buggy?

you think you will be done for saturdays wheeling trip? :D

Got beef?

Obviously the links and everything are pretty dirty but I'm just in the mock up stage.... I'll clean up everything for the final build. At least I can now say that the axle is connected to the chassis though. :)

gotta figure this out too... it just kisses the link but with more weight on the tire I imagine that'll bubble out on it more:

updated link calc which is pretty close to real world:

This truck is going to be wicked. I'm glad you're building up your 60 and not a buggy! Gives us all something to aspire to.

Keep up the good work!! :grinpimp:

I have very limited room in the garage so bending tube was a problem. I decided to go cheapo hydro so that I could put the bender on a cart and push it around and get it out of the way when not in use. Should be able to bend up some coilover hoops now. :)

holy cow that is just sexy (bender) the truck looks good too. How long are those coil overs? looks like they will stick throgh the hood when you get them mounted.

How are you going to build the rear?

Still open for a build day till around the 5th then it is back to work for the wifey so she can buy me a 4.70:1 toy box:D

How does the full-hydro do on the street? What size ram are you running?

Build is looking good!

The coilovers are 14" travel. I'm going to set up the hoops/coilovers at full compression and it'll be close. I'm not afraid to cut the hood if need be though.

I've been playing with the idea of 63" chevy springs for the back and moving the perches so that the rear tire will be closer to the end of the 60. Doing that will require some MAJOR trimming. Somthing similar to "Tippy R" or Baxter's rig for the rear cut outs. I've already hacked the rear fender somewhat so why not keep going? I have something else in mind if that doesnt work out though.

There is all kinds of back and forth on running full hydro on the street. I bought a 3.5 turn orbital so I should be ok for the occasional road use this thing will see. The ram size..... ummmm big? I should probably figure that out but I still gotta finish up the other stuff first.

Thanks for the comments guys... I'm doing the best I can to keep the project going. Even negative comments or questions (as long as they are constructive) are appreciated!
