And not a single word about my faux wood wrap? You guys are slipping. I thought it was stock at first, but the closer I look at it, the more it looks like an aftermarket deal. It was on the window controls on the door handles too. I have started removing it.

Anyone have an old altimeter/ thermometer housing laying around that they would part with? I am thinking I want to mount the turbo gauges in one up on the dash. Right now they were expertly mounted with double sided tape. But hey, I ain't complaining, the PO could have easily hacked the dash and drilled a bunch of holes.

I just assumed that you had a deluxe model. I was actually a little jealous. :)

I don't have an old altimeter/ thermometer housing but I will be watching how you mod yours for the gauges, as I plan on doing it this spring. I assume you plan on fitting all three gauges in there?

Funny mine had Patagonia stickers on it in a few places when I got it also.

Do you plan to install a 2nd pod that contains the turbo related instruments or simply remove the current pod and mount the new pod there?

I don't have a pod in mine currently. Some 77's got them and some didn't. Here is the plan, gut a pod out and install it like this. It feels like using the lower stereo din is a bit tight, besides I hate smashing wires in a tight dash. This feels and looks like how it would have come from the factory had Mr T done it.

Another option ..... But as you said its a tad tight.

The shop has already fabricated the backing plate to do the same installation in my 77 Series.

Many Aussie rigs with second fuel tanks have that pod.

My Ute had that option but I didn't want to move the rear fuel gauge so I chose to place the gauges near the radio.

Sorry, I had almost forgot that you had requested photos of the aux transmission cooler. Between the grill, winch and skid plate it's hard to get a detailed photo.
