Anyone have any pics of racks they have made or bought that sits over your soft top, and where did you mount it from? Thanks

Check the Rack thread below.

Not his truck...

check the thread the pic came from, and PM the owner.

It is a sharp (albiet non-factory) color.

I got the pic off the "Racks" post, the one I referred you to. Interestingly enough, I do have a '66 which this appears to be. I dig the color, too.
Here's mine.

Hmmm .. I could get one made from here to go with the OEM top.. A detatchable roof rack that may need some welding to install.. :)

Here is a shot of the rack I got on mine.
Works great.
10 minutes to install or remove.
They are common down here.
Made some brackets to keep it from shaking around.
Note rubber mount all points if you go this route.

ok, since this is back from the kinda sorta dead- Ehsan- what does this rack youre talking about look like? I have your top (love it) and want a rack ontop. I have been thinking of ways to do it for along time, but havent come up with anything that I really like just yet.

thanks!

<proud ownder of ehsan top #2 :D>

Degnol did the link to the soft top rack thread get taken down? Really like the set up on that truck and would like to fab up something similar. I'm particularly interested in how it is secured to the rear. Was thinking about doing some hanging brackets that screw into the stock hard top holes go over the body lip and down to meet the upright bars.

Jumpin jump-backs Dengol-Man, old thead (and I love your super duper shackles in the pic above)

x2 maybe its the age of the thread but I can't see any of the pics or the racks thread either.

Thanks,
I could see Poser's rig but not any links or pics in the linked thread. I have thought a bit about this and it seems that if you want to run a roof rack with either a soft or hard top and not drill into the cruiser you can bolt the front lower supports through the windshield lower hinges and then the rear supports drop down into the rear bumper somehow. If you angled the front supports so that the windshield could still drop down you could drop the windshield and open the rear doors. Now all I need is some cash.:hhmm:

The first pic of the green truck looks like the best to me. Wish I could see the rear. I also like the green one with the silver frame. A couple of the others are just racks bolted to the roll bars. Posers looks prett bitchin though. Would be cool to see his set up on something with an external frame.

It seems like the windshield attachments in the front are the way to go and would be easy. The real problem is the rear attachments. For me (73) the stock rear tire is in the way so can't go to the stock bumper. Also not sure about going all the way down the side and into the frame....might hit the body offroading.

We were talking about this ame thing a little while back in a thread titled "pakistani rack interest" I will try to link it.....but Jhonny C had a good idea to fab up some brackets to support the rear uprights that are tied into the hard tops tub screws. See Jhonny C's pic. I have a little room between my Ehsan softop and my tub that it would be no problem to run these brackets.
