Just re-read both your diesel conversion and this thread. Great work! Curious as to why you didn't just buy a BJ40 and drive it back/import it from Canada? Throw in the hf55 and a turbo. Where did you get the 70 donor from?

Made it in yesterday evening trip ended up being 40 miles shy of 5000 miles. Not sure where to next but a/c is on the list and I'm going to put the 4.11 diffs back in with some lockers and a maggiolina roof top tent if I can source one.

Hey Roma, welcome home. I'm serious about the 3.70 gears - ill buy them. Are they fine or course spline?

Don't think they ever made course spline 3.7 gears just 4.1

They are fine spline. To be honest with you after installing solid pinion spacers, bearings, flanges and seals im in them too deep to sell them

I can't believe you don't like them. You're the first I've met who prefers the 4:11 with the h55. I hate how the fist gear is with 4:11 myself.

im just not crazy about the gear spread. I didnt get to drive it with the turbo and 4.11s so im going to throw the rear 4.11 in and drive it around for a couple of weeks. Im indecisive.

Almost forgot came across this monstrosity in Rocky Mountain np at first glance I thought it was a humvee because it was so wide. The rear has seating 4 across

Love to see inside that engine bay. Either there is a huge diesel in there or you could stand in it.

What is that thing? Hood looks to be 1-2' wider than a 40.
