Rolled the 80. Now what?

here's my story for you -

i totaled my first 80. it was 1 owner prior to me, super clean, and locked. the way the payment to me was going to work out, it was going to cost me $3k+ out of pocket to rebuild the truck if I wanted the repair money. so I took the totaled check instead, which actually paid me. then I went out and found another 80 for less money. it worked out great for me financially.

I did not have any modifications into the truck when I totaled it.

Good luck!

I see a blown out windshield and crushed windshield frame, a tweaked hook and some crunched body panels. If your insurance will total the vehicle, cut a decent check, and let you buy the truck back then I'd do that - then install a new windshield and you're good to go.

Thanks to you all for the replies. Sorry couldn't type back, but I was on a mission since I am in the Army and just came back.

My idea is not to dump any more money on this thing in trying to fix it and also time and place since I do not have a house to work on it confortably, and I could turn it into a trail rig, but I would have to buy a trailer-suv or pick up to haul it. I will get the rig back and sell it to someone that already has a TLC for a decent price the way it looks on the last picture. I will keep my m12000 and sell the rest locally in South Florida like the DC front shaft, ARB bumper, Sliders.

The snorkel didn't break at all, only the ram air part.

I have some other plans in my head, but my priority is getting a gas saver car to make it back and forth from point A to B.

Had a 60, enjoyed it. Had an 80 loved it........... Let's see what's next.

Thanks to all for your help and keep the 80's going, who knows might end up with an 80 if I decide to keep the aftermarket stuff :)

Theres a few shops down here in Houston could make it brand new again..

Those guys do some amazing work.

There is a thread here where (I believe) a guy that works at a body shop bought a rolled 80 and did an awesome job putting it back together..

What type of insurance is everybody using? Full, liability?

Want to get the best compromise of coverage and price. You guys all running full coverage?

Cheers,
Mike

I had full coverage and it did pay. Here in Florida if I buy the vehicle back from the insurance I will get a Savage title and that vehicle will not be able to be driven on a road again.
