The battery charge is lasting less and less for the Ring Video door bell I think Gen 1. It is hooked up to the door bell wires but not making it last longer. Had it for 3+ years

I am guessing the transformer is a low voltage/low power one and thinking if I went with the recommended 16V 30A transformer I would be fine

Digging into it I opened up the chime and saw the below. I see wires from the transformer but no transformer. I googled it and ended up finding the transformer on the HVAC system power switches

So my question is if I upgrade the transformer do I need to do anything with this chime box or will it just run through it. The chime isnt used since the power and ground dont touch each other like a standard door bell

Anyone done this? I normally screw something up and learn from it and dont screw it up again. I was hoping to skip that first step :)
