most 40s by now are a lot of work. Neglected 40s are even more work. Flooded and neglected 40s, well you are one step below a burned up 40 :)

just from the pictures the body looks solid, but depending on the severity of the flood and how long it was in there you just don’t know what’s good.
I would plan on a bad engine but who knows, and hope the gear boxes aren’t rusted to heck.

everythin else can be rebuilt and Probabaly needs to be anyways. $1500-$2000 for me as it looks solid.

I'll toss this small story in:

I bought a 40 that was left out with no top and no shifter in the transmission. Guess what? Yep. About a gallon of water came out first and pissed me off. I pulled the cover expecting the worst but lo and behold. No air got to the water so there wasn't ANY rust in the case. None. It's been running fine for 5 years now.

Favor?? Maybe...

Bought the old girl , got it home , oil pan gave me a 8 gallons of water , transfer case was the nasty of them all , trans had about 3 gallons below the oil , front and rear difs were not so bad , question how can I flush the trans and transfer case in place , or would a hot oil flush work , not keen on trying to drop trans and chase , motor isn’t stuck I can turn it with fly wheel
