I bent up my rear DS and will be replacing it with a spare that I have(97 80, 120k). I will put new toyo u-joints in it prior to installation but have a few questions. I keep reading that I should mark the DS before removal to keep it in phase but I'll be putting a different shaft on so does this still apply? Also, while inspecting the replacement DS I pulled the slip yolk apart without marking its orientation first (I was tired). Can I just line it up in the same orientation as my old DS and be ok? What's the best way to put the replacement on correctly? I have a fsm but not in front of me. Will it give me direction to replace?
Thanks in advance
Paul
