Alright yall... did a very stupid thing and drove my 80 with the front driveshaft off for about a mile. No CDL on. I know very stupid, should have done research beforehand. Anyway did i cause any damage to the coupling? Going to test it with the one wheel in the air method. Any other recommended test?

A mile? No worries. No damage.

Did you have it in low range that would have engaged the CDL?
Do you have a separate CDL lock button?

nope, had it in D but didn't move much so put it in 2nd. Just ordered cdl button.
Your next step will be to complete the pin 7 modification.

You can still drive it in the short term by starting it, place it in low range, shut it off, pull the fuse for the CDL, then start up and the CDL will be locked until you replace the fuse. That's how you drive with one driveshaft.

i have the cdl button to install, arrived yesterday, getting the gears re-geared to 4.88s, pulled the front drive shaft off to confirm bad pinion bearing in the front diff. decided to just re gear the whole thing rather than swap out the bearing.
