I managed to somehow break both the headlight assembly and the clearance lamp (side marker lamp) on my 2000 LX 470.

I cant seem to find a how to on replacing these two parts/pieces. Can anyone offer any direction on replacing these? Also, any good sources for the parts...they are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive from lexus/Toyota.

Interested in this. My headlight is cracked also and also needs replacing.

This should help. LX 470 headlamp removal
make sure you have a clip removal tool to remove the filler strips...you want to get the tool right on the clip to pry it off.... if not you will crack the filler strip

This picture will show the clips

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH THE STUPID TRIM PIECE ITS LIKE CRAZY EXPENSIVE YOU DONT WANT TO BREAK IT.

Now what’s wrong with your actual headlight ? Is the glass just broken?

If so I know a guy that has a good piece of glass. You could probably bake the old one off and refit it.

$100 for the piece UNPAINTED, add another couple hundred for paint... PO broke mine and JB welded it back together. It’s on my list....

So yeah, don’t break it

Does this trim piece need to come out if you just want to get the corner lens out?

I ordered a set all 3 from China - not something I am proud of. They are in transit and probably not worth the 70.00. But all three of mine are long gone.

Will report back on the usefulness of them.

I am like 98% sure you can’t get the corner light out without taking the trim off.

And that trim is desiptily fragile - I think I got one out intact and looked at it wrong acx a tab broke off.

@PADDO is correct. You also have to remove the center piece of trim to access the screws for the filler strips. You have to pull it straight out.. These plastic piece will easily crack if its really cold so a heat gun and some PB Blaster on the clips should help
