Replacing hub studs (2 Viewers)

Hey guys. I’ve torn my front axle apart and come to find that the last ‘mechanic’ in this thing used nothing but FiPG and a big ass impact wrench. Every one of the studs on the hub are stripped out - badly (see attached pic). I’ve pulled them all and have new ones to install but I can’t find anything in the FSM on torque specs or whether I should use thread locker on them.

Does anyone know?

No and no. Thread them I snug enough to retain the stud. There’s nothing precise about it.
 
there is no listed torque spec, just snug them down and call it a day, I go for the double nut method of installing. id runa thread chaser through to clean out the fipg before installing the new ones
 
To add to this, is it necessary to replace those when servicing knuckles?
Only if they are damaged or somehow compromised.
 
If you do want to use a thread locker, use a medium strength one like Loctite 243. Like exhaust manifold studs, they're intended to thread in until hand tight and that's it. The holes in the hub itself can have the threads 'cleaned' with something like a M8 x 1.25 plug tap if required just so new studs go in all the way without any interference.

Good to know. I did already clean up the threads with a tap as they were a mess. Traveling the next few days but I hope to get it all strapped back up over the weekend. Appreciate all the feedback guys. I’ll let you all know how it goes.
 
I have to do this work as well since I managed to strip 5/6 of my studs on one of my hubs. Does anyone have the part number for the studs?
 
Use a thread chaser to clean existing threaded holes. Taps may remove material and weaken the threads.
