Replacing coolant hoses (1 Viewer)

I'll be replacing all coolant hoses over next week or 2. Mine gave up and I had a puddle of coolant on road as soon as temperature started rising.
I'm using HPS hoses linked in one of the threads.

I wanted to know is there anything else I should replace while I'm at it?
My car:
Lexus LX450
Around 210k miles

Is there a huge downside for using Silicone hoses? I'm asking mainly because I already bought them.
And thanks a lot for OEM parts website, I kept searching for one and can never find (mainly because I kept looking for Lexus parts not Land cruiser parts)

The silicone hoses are known to leak and fail in about 2 years. They are way soft..

If you do a search on here for those that have done the PHH in silicone, they are back in there very soon due to the change in the hoses and leaking.

As said above, use oem hoses. It’s also a great time to replace the thermostat and heater valve. Here’s a great thread for the oem part number list:

After less than 1 year I yanked all silicon houses out. Used All OEM, Green stripe and constant torque clamps from @NLXTACY

After doing this recently, some thoughts to make it go smoother:

1. On the lower passenger side radiator hoses, unbolt the hard line elbow while installing the new hoses, then bolt it back up again, will make that install less bloody
2. When pushing the hose up the thermostat line, watch out for the oil pressure sending unit and its 2 little fragile wires and their connector
3. A burping funnel made the removal of air a lot easier when replacing the coolant

And "while you are there", would be easy to flush the heater too since you are draining the coolant.

Joey to the rescue again.
When I replaced every hose and clamp in my cooling system Joey's new offering would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.
Joey, it would be nice if you would offer a set of clamps with the hoses. My preference is the OEM style, not the Breeze constant tension. I think the Breeze are too bulky and heavy, particularly for use on the plastic heater control valve. I ended up buying Rotor Clip brand, which I'm very happy with.

I did find that sorting out the sizing myself was a PITA, so if you're still figuring out how you're going to offer your hose replacement set, I would suggest including the Rotor Clip (or similar).

Just my two cents. You probably already have a better idea sorted out.
