I have received several inquiries from the "what have you done" thread regarding a set of aftermarket wiper motors that I purchased off of Ebay. So I figured I would create a seperate thread to make it easier to find.

If you are looking for a set of direct bolt in wipers, that wire right up and look great, these are just the ticket! They are stainless steel, and have a parking feature. My originals were no longer parking, and one was pretty wore out.

The pair is only 83 bucks.

Can't say for sure from just pictures, but it looks like the original early wiper arms might go right on those as well.

Do they have some way to adjust where they park, and maybe even how wide a sweep they have?

Yes, the original arms do bolt on. Its a simple slide over with the bolt to tighten them down.

They have a 110 degree sweep, (non adjustable) but you can set where they park. You have to crack them open for adjustments, and instructions are NOT included. But you can google it up easy enough. I thought I was going to have to adjust the shaft length, but it actually is just about perfect.

Now if only they’d make repos of the early bolt on wiper arms.

I purchased these but they appear that they go up to start. Can you point me in the direction for the adjustment?
Thanks

I wonder if the stock cover would fit - Just had them beautifully powder coated, but only one of the motors works okay, the other is just about dead. The pictures I've seen online of some of these things (marine wipers, etc.) look very similar, like they're made from the same molds.

One thing about these motors is they don't sit centered on the windshield frame like the OEM ones do. It doesn't bother me tho...

i will look in my stash but early wilys used a similar wiper arm with the bolt in the side

I looked into mine. Figured out how to set the park to opposite side. (Top)

To do this you will need to pull the cover off the shaft side.
The shaft will slide out.
You will see one phillips screw holding a small retainer plate. #1 Unscrew this plate. Lift it away. Remove small gear below. #2 Once this gear is removed you can turn the main gear #3 (the one with the arm that engages the shaft) 180* which in turn rotates the cam the same 180* as the cam sits on the shaft coming from this gear.
Put it back together. Take pics along the way.

It should look like this when done...

You may need to do a couple small tweaks to get it just right.

I had this epiphany at 3:30 this am. Thank you very much for your help!!

Well unfortunately this didn't work! The problem is the park actuator is on the other side of the shaft so it keeps going back to the same spot. I would have to take the large gear off and rotate it 180. It appears to be pressed on! Time to maybe rebuild my factory unit. Thanks again

mine were sluggish and it was due to the lube in the shaft going through the windshields dried up i took them apart and cleaned them and they work fine now

If you follow my instructions that is what I am doing. Turning the large gear 180*. Which rotates the cam 180*. You don't have to remove the large gear.

We must have different motors. The lobe on the other side of that large gear on mine is what dictates the park. So if I turn it 180 it goes right back to park where the contacts are. The only way mine would work is to rotate the lobe on the other end of that shaft. Thanks for your help.

Take the lobe off. Pull the large gear. Put large gear, (shaft end) in a vise, grab a glove, and turn it 180*.
That will do it. :)
