www.cruisersoultions.com has new boxed style frames for FJ40 for $4400. Look under new parts and then scroll down and check it out.

hmm. i recall matkins had a "stage 3" that had a 6" cross section, and built like a tank. i wanted to get pricing on a frame with a 3" stretched cowl, and 5 more behind the seat. figgured id have gozzard do the tub. hm.

THat sounds nice (heavy but nice).

How dow a standard 40 series frame compare to an 80 series frame?

dont know. i wanted a frame with all the hard points the same, but longer in the cowl area to match a custom fiberglass tub. stretching a 40, or cutting a 45, for the 5 behind the seat isnt an issue, but the extra 3 in the cowl area is. i wanted everything else to be "bolt on". an 80 frame sounds like a fitting nightmare. if time is money, a custom frame is cheaper. at least thats what i was thinking.

His web page is no longer valid. He may have closed shop like many other suppliers with a limited customer base. I can find no match for Matkins Extreme in Montana. It is ashamed as he made awesome frames with any modification and finish you could want.

from the posts i could find, im thinking a couple years ago. ***.

I'm fairly certain the frames Cruiser Solutions sells are the Matkins frames. Or at least they were. They were building a truck using one of them when I was at their shop one time a few years back. Very beefy.

the frames that cruiser solutions I believe are the ones made by Aqualu. They started selling them about the same time that Aqualu came out with their frames.
