Well, for a steering gearbox swap, is it easier to remove pit arm from the gear box or disassemble the steering linkages on the pit arm?

I try with a 3 “arms” puller and give it a lot of torque with no results. Yet…

So, before putting all my energy on this one, I’ll make a little turn here to ear some recommendation. Eating, knocking, type of puller,…

Merci.

Lots of PB Blaster or Kroil, get the puller as tight as you can, put a little heat to it (be careful not to melt the seals), then let it sit overnight. You may come out tomorrow morning and find the pitman arm on the ground.

Yes - it was a terrible effort. If you have that snap-on puller as my local shop did (as in the link above), it was a couple of minutes.

If you only have the one steering box to deal with, separate at the drag link, pull the box, and have a shop with a Snap-On puller take the pitman arm off for you. How much could they charge just for that?

Of course if you rebuild a lot of steering boxes, buying the Snap-On puller is THE WAY TO GO! Mine is going on 17 years now, and never let me down.

Best

Thank you all.

Indeed, with the right tools, is a easy job.

I finally disassembled the two sides of the arm pit. The drag link on the end of the pitman was the easiest part.

Salut
